Contributed to stakeholder engagement and capacity building — survey design, workshop preparation, and regulatory and policy discussions with Turkish public authorities and maritime stakeholders — covering alternative fuels, regulatory readiness, market mechanisms, infrastructure needs, institutional coordination, and decarbonisation pathways for the maritime sector.

• Assessment of a Carbon Tax to Decarbonise Türkiye's Energy Supply 2050

  Turkish Ministry of Energy · World Energy Council Türkiye

  Role: Policy & Economic Analysis

  A policy and economic assessment of carbon-tax scenarios supporting Türkiye's energy transition and climate-mitigation objectives. Reviewed international policy approaches, analysed alternative emission-mitigation strategies, and synthesised findings into recommendations presented to World Energy Council Türkiye and the Ministry of Energy; coordinated stakeholder meetings and project planning. • SI-DRIVE — Social Innovation: Driving Force of Social Change

  EU-funded research consortium

  Role: Researcher · Türkiye mapping

  EU-funded research deepening the understanding of social innovation in Türkiye and its place in European and global mapping. Planned and conducted stakeholder interviews and prepared reports on innovative practices across policy areas, with a focus on the institutional and social mechanisms driving innovation in energy supply and the transition to more sustainable, lower-carbon systems.

• Daylight-Saving Time & Electricity Consumption Modelling

  Role: Data Analysis & Econometric Modelling

  Analysed large electricity-consumption datasets to model correlations between solar radiation, sunshine duration, and energy-usage patterns across regions of the country. The analysis informed national policy discussions on the continuation of year-round daylight-saving time.

Support across stakeholder engagement, survey design, workshop preparation, policy discussions, and capacity-building activities with public authorities, industry, and international project teams.

2. 2018 – 2025

   Istanbul Centre for Regulation (IC4R) · Türkiye

   Key contributor to the establishment of IC4R, a research institution recognised for excellence in competition and regulatory studies. Led policy research and advisory work on regulatory frameworks, market design, and institutional governance, and planned and delivered international conferences and forums on decarbonisation and digitalisation in network industries — in close collaboration with the Florence School of Regulation.

3. 2018 – 2024

   Managing Editor

   Competition & Regulation in Network Industries (SAGE) · Network Industries Quarterly

   Led the editorial process for a peer-reviewed journal on governing and regulating complex socio-technical systems — energy, transport, telecommunications, water, and urban systems. Coordinated joint publication efforts between IC4R and the Florence School of Regulation, and acted as guest editor and contributing author.
